35 originally ratified it, but it recent years, Nevada, and Illinois have aswell.

3/4 of the nation's state's have to ratify an amendment before it goes into affect.

That it must be passed in 7 years.

They voted no 5 to 4 in the Senate, with men being the nos.
7. How can Congress change the ratification deadline from 1982 to now?
By majority vote Congress could just decide to change the deadline to many years from now.
8. How does the 27th Amendment provide an example that this amendment could be ratified now?
Its deadline was originally 190 years before its
Ratification, but Congress voted to extend it and it got ratified in the 90's.
