They planed to hold a virtual caucus over a system of phones.
2. Why has the Democratic National Committee decided to recommend rejecting these plans?
Because of recent events they have some concerns over that systems seceptability to hacking.
3. Why had the Iowa Democratic Party recommended these changes?
The Iowa branch particularly had fell under accusations that its caucuses were not accessable enough.
4. Why is it so important that Iowa is the first contest?  How do they influence the nomination process?
Iowa shows which candidates have momentum and which do not, so that we know in the begining who will fail miserably.
5. Why are caucuses controversial as a nomination process?
Caucuses are not very accessible, with one having to spend hours to sort themselves into groups in favor of a candidate, which excludes the disabled elderly and anyone with prior commitments.
6. What is the problem with more people participating in the caucus process in recent elections?
The more people there are the longer the Caucus takes, as well as the more resources.
7. Why are many arguing that this new form of caucus could be manipulated? 
Tests have shown the phone system could be easily manipulated. Also the votes would count less so the people would get even less say in government.
8. What would be the problem with Iowa changing to a primary?
Iowa would no longer be the first state to hold its elections, because New Hampshire has a firm hold on the first primary.
9. How does New Hampshire ensure that it is the first primary?
It is legally allowed to hold its primary a week before any other state that attempts to hold theirs before its.
